Job Summary:
The Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Analyst plays a key role in supporting the bank’s compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act and the USA PATRIOT Act. The primary purpose of this position is to assist the BSA Officer in ensuring adherence to the bank’s BSA/AML compliance program. The analyst is responsible for conducting BSA/AML investigations, due diligence, and tracking related activity, as well as analyzing alerts and incidents generated through the Verafin transaction monitoring system for unusual or suspicious activity. Additional responsibilities include performing deposit account quality control (QC) reviews and reviewing and verifying Customer Identification Program (CIP), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), and Know Your Customer (KYC) documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The analyst also assists branches affected by BSA compliance issues and regulatory requirements, supports the preparation of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs), and maintains accurate and complete documentation. The role requires effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. This is a full-time, in-office position that provides critical support to the bank’s efforts in financial crime prevention and regulatory compliance.

Education and Experience:
High school degree or equivalent experience in a related field. Minimum of 2 years or more of experience in banking with preference for experience in Bank Operations. In-depth experience and understanding of financial institution products and services, applicable laws and regulations.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Monitor daily transactions and alerts using Verafin to identify patterns of unusual or suspicious activity.
- Conduct and document BSA/AML investigations, including analysis of potential suspicious activity.
- Prepare and file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) accurately and in a timely manner.
- Review CTRs for accuracy, make necessary corrections, and ensure proper filing with FinCEN.
- Perform ongoing Customer Identification Program (CIP), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), and Know Your Customer (KYC) reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist the BSA Officer with CIP reviews and related documentation.
- Monitor High Risk Customer (HRC) accounts to ensure documentation is current and conduct account activity analysis for risk indicators.
- Perform deposit account quality control (QC) reviews to ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards.
- Assist branches affected by BSA compliance issues and regulatory requirements, providing guidance and support.
- Maintain detailed and organized documentation of investigations, reports, and due diligence reviews.
- Support internal and external audits and regulatory exams by providing requested documentation and responses.
- Participate in required BSA/AML/OFAC compliance training and remain current on regulatory updates.
- Assist in 314(a) record search and maintaining record retention.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Use Microsoft Excel and other tools to manage data, perform analysis, and support reporting requirements.
- Be aware of and support the Bank’s efforts in meeting the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).
- Helps promote a culture of regulatory compliance and safe and sound financial practice
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the BSA Officer or Compliance leadership.

- Experience working with transaction monitoring systems, preferably Verafin.
- CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) or other relevant compliance certifications.
- Prior experience preparing and filing SARs or CTRs.
- Experience working in a BSA/AML or Compliance role within a financial institution.
- Familiarity with FinCEN reporting systems or regulatory exam preparation.
